so i’ve been messing around with some online chat clients…or at least just one; hab.la.

hab.la works great and looks nice sitting at the bottom of each page of my site, but, it uses the Jabber chat protocol just as Google Talk does.  there’s only one reason this doesn’t sit well with me; Trillian’s new IM client, Trillian Astra is still workin out all the kinks and hasn’t yet perfected its supposed Jabber protocol support.  so at this point the only IM client that perfectly supports Jabber is Pidgin.  Pidgin’s ok, but i’m really liking the new Trillian and don’t want to switch back to Pidgin. so for now i’ll be using Trillian mainly and maybe i’ll keep Pidgin running in the system tray just for site chat until either Trillian perfects its Jabber support or i move onto a different online site chat client that uses a different protocol such as AIM.
